'Tanya Bakes' First opinion.....

So many Youtubers have released books over the past few years and I wouldn't say I am against it, but sometimes I think it is a little bit too much when every single YouTuber seems to be releasing something at the same time. When famous YouTuber Tanya Burr released her newest book, I never gave it much attention... just another book to add to the collection. However the fact she was releasing a Recipe book intrigued me, and even better, it was a baking book... one of my biggest hobbies. My brother bought me the book for my birthday (after I practically had to tell him to buy me it) and I thought I would talk a little bit about what I think... and also attempt to make one of the recipes.

As much as I love baking, I have never actually owned my own recipe book... it has always been things I have found online, or books my dad passed to me when he was a cook. The book itself is definitely not short of recipes... and they are all split into different sections so their is going to be something their to suit you.. whatever you are baking for. Every recipe has a picture to give you an insight as to what the final outcome should be like and if you are anything like me, you will know how valuable a simple picture can be when making a recipe for the first time.

After much dilemma trying to pick something to make, I decided to go with the 'Salted Nutella Cookies', something that has me written all over it.

Now, normally I fail on a first attempt at making something from scratch and this was no different. The first load were HUGE, and didn't taste great.... however my second batch was a lot more successful, with a few little tweaks....

I added some dark and milk chocolate chips into my cookies as I love having little bits of chocolate throughout as you are eating them... nevertheless apart from that I used the exact same measurements and recipe. I still have a little practice I think to get the cookies spot on, but I am not far off. These cookies taste AMAZING!!!

I love the sweet and salty taste int these cookies and think they are so yummy, as well as being a little different from your usual chocolate chop cookies. You can of course adjust how much salt you mix in with this recipe, depending on your taste, which is great as it suits everyone's preferences.

I am of course not going to disclose the recipe in detail... however I can say that it was very easy to follow and the instructions were very clear, making it much more simple to get the finished result.

As far as recipe books go, I would recommend this one. Yes, I know, I said I wasn't a fan of Youtuber books, however this one is actually really useful as you can have a go at all the different recipes. Whether you are new to baking, or count it as one of your hobbies, this is definitely going to work for you.
I mean, let's face it, the book it'self is just really cute. The pictures are so well taken and give you a great idea of what the final outcome should be (even though it might not look that good)

Until next time, take care... and if you have any opinions, post them in the comments below.

Lots of Love
