What i've learned in my first year of BLOGGING!

Lingering Sun

This week my blog officially turned one! On the 14th February 2016 I typed up my first ever blog post and almost 100 posts later, I am celebrating my first Blogiversary! My first year as a blogger has taught me a lot over the past year... click here to see what I have to say.....

So many people get into blogging for different reasons. People get into blogging to give them something to do in their free time, others have a passion for writing and want to share it with everyone. A lot of people might get into Blogging to share a personal experience to help others.

I got into making a blog because I have always wanted to get more into writing. I wasn't great at English at school. I wasn't awful, it wasn't my strongest subject, nevertheless, I always loved writing and discussing different issues. It was always something I had kind of forgotten since I left school, and I really wanted to get back into it again!

I love the idea of being able to discuss different issues, and that people might find it useful or comforting. My confidence has improved massively when it comes to not only my writing ability, but also helping others. Their are issues that I now feel comfortable discussing, that maybe this time last year would have never crossed my mind. And in turn, I feel that my advice or suggestions might be then of more use to the readers who visit my blog.... more useful for all of you!

Another reason I got into blogging was to share my passion for beauty and lifestyle. I do love to discuss current issues within my posts, but over the past year I have certainly moved on and allowed myself to include my love of make-up, fashion and beauty. I have always been someone who loves to review products that are available in the shops, and have been lucky enough in my first year of blogging to be given the opportunity to work with some amazing companies. It means a lot, and has also shown me that I am going in the right direction. My knowledge of beauty and fashion trends has grown a lot since my first post went live, which in turn has allowed me to give much better products reviews today. I can't wait to see what the future brings and allow myself to learn more regarding the beauty sector.

I would never say I was a shy person, however one thing I know for sure that has improved massively in myself over the last year is how better I am socially. I feel much more confident talking to fellow bloggers, attending blogging events with people I have never met, and also discussing my blog with my friends and family, something that would have scared me just 12 months ago. This has helped me so much, not only within the blogging community, but personally too, allowing me to meet new friends and also helped me get my dream job just this year. The skills I have learned while blogging have certainly helped me a lot more than I ever though they would.

Lastly.... something that people don't think of is how much your organisation and priority skills improve. One big thing for me was setting myself a schedule to follow. Having the responsibility of making sure my posts went up on time and were ready to go was something I was rubbish at when I first started! After a few months I was slowly improving and today I can manage my blog so efficiently and do so successfully! It is something that has became useful in so many aspects of my life and helped me become a more efficient person!

I never realized when I typed up my first post over a year ago that it would become such a major part of my life. The last year really has had it's ups and downs. I have had some amazing highs and attended some great events, however have also had my low points where Ii have thought about giving it up! Nevertheless a year on, I can gladly say that it has been a great thing for me and I cannot wait to keep learning and improving my knowledge!

I also just want to give a MASSIVE thank you to the people who have supported me in my first year and to the companies who have taken a chance on me! If it wasn't for you, I might not still be going!

If you want to see what I get up to in the next year of blogging, remember to follow me and check out all my social links below... it would mean a lot! <3
