Technically, I don't actually live in Glasgow, I am about 15 minutes out, however it is certainly somewhere I visit a lot. I spend so much of my free time in the City of Glasgow and over the years have came up with a bucket list of things, whether you have lived here all your life, or visiting whilst on your travels, that you must do while you are exploring the city. Glasgow certainly is one of a kind, so make sure you complete these 5 things to ensure you made the most of your trip round Glasgow...

Ashton Lane, West End

Ashton Lane is one of my favourite places to visit in Glasgow and is packed full of cafes, pubs, restaurants and bars... and even an exclusive cinema. Whether you are out with friends, or on a day trip with family, Ashton Lane has always remained popular with locals and visitors alike. It also hosts several events throughout the year, one of the most popular being the New Year party, where all the pubs and bars open their doors to ticketed customers to ring in the new year. It is for sure up there with one of my favorite places in Glasgow!

Buchanan Street

If you are a shopaholic, then Buchanan Street is a must do. Packed full of  shops, from little boutiques to big brands, you can find a range of clothes, home ware and market pieces here. With a train station nearby and a 2 subway stops on the street itself, it is extremely easy to get to and from, so travel is never a problem either, even if you are only visiting.
The street is also popular for artists and performers to display their talents, so you will be mesmerized with some of Glasgow s talent while you are completing you shopping too....

The Hydro

Now one of the leading top entertainment arenas in Scotland, The Hydro is definitely worth visiting to ensure you enjoy a show to remember. Everything from famous singers, performers, sports events and conferences are held here and although the building itself is only a few years old, it has made a massive name for itself. It is for sure worth a visit if you can make it!

Glasgow is home to some of my favourite museums and has became pretty well known for being some of the best in the UK. Their are several museums to visit, my favourites being the Kelvingrove museum and the newly refurbished Transport museum. The buildings themselves are a work of their art on their own, and as you walk through the huge collection of artwork, history and ornaments, it is easy to see how it gained its popularity. All the museums are free, so it is also great for staying on a budget....

Ice Hockey

Ice Hockey has very quickly became my favourite sport and pass time of mines over the past 5 year thank to the Braehead Clan coming into existence. It has quickly gained popularity all over the UK, but especially in Scotland, and regularly sells out their arena. It is for sure a 'must' when visiting Glasgow... it is a great family night out that provides entertainment for all.
They also offer plenty of different opportunities where you can meet players and staff, attend event nights and get included in the action, so I would recommend keeping an eye out... I haven't been to any yet, but definitely want to one day! Attending a Braehead Clan game is something you must do if you are in Glasgow...

So those are my 5 'must dos' if you are in Glasgow. Glasgow is full of different pass times and buildings that offer tons of history and entertainment, however personally, this list are my recommendations to ensure you get the most out of your time in Glasgow, whether you are local or not.
