How I have been keeping busy during Quarantine...

Its been a bit of a crazy few months hasn't it? We are all spending a lot more time at home and keeping ourselves busy has been a challenge. I have been in the process of getting my job placement sorted so I have been off throughout this quarantine, and although I am hopefully getting back to work in just a few weeks, I have been trying to keep myself busy and productive at home until then. Some days I have seriously lacked motivation, which is completely fine I have learned, and just had a movie day or lazed about, but outwith those few days, I have tried to keep myself active and creative.

So how have I been keeping busy. Firstly, and probably the most boring, but I have been keeping on top of the housework and cleaning and decluttering the house while I get the chance. My wardrobe was really needing a clear out and we had so many things just cluttering up the cupboards and shelves so it has been great getting time to give the flat a much needed clearing. Although I now have about 10 bags just sitting at the side of our bedroom waiting for things to get back to normal so I can get them to a charity shop, I feel so glad that our wardrobe looks much better... we can actually see whats there, instead of everything being piled up on top of each other.
Also, it has been great to give things a much needed clean that might have not been done before. things like out kitchen and bathroom have been given a really deep clean over the past month and it feels great knowing those areas have been properly taken care of and look and feel much nicer to be in. It has been much easier to keep on top of all our chores too, I don't find I need to spend as much time getting home tasks done as I can keep on top of it much easier.

I have also been getting crafty and using the time to get some bits done that I have never got round too. I have always wanted a dressing table and for months I have been talking about renovating our bedroom desk into one, but we have just never got round to it. I had so much fun getting some wee bits for it and personalising my little area... and I love having a place of my own to get ready and start the day! I have loved having something to focus on and even though I might not be using it much just now for make up etc, it has helped me really stick to keeping a skincare routine!

Talking of skincare, this home time has gave me all the time in the world to start giving my hair and skin a good pampering. Masks, Moisturisers, Gels, creams, and lotions... I have used them all regularly to ensure when the lock down gets lifted, I return with the best skin I can! I have also discovered some holy grail must haves, including the Coco and Eve hair mask! It has been a must have seeing as I can't get my usual trim to keep my split ends at bay. I use the mask once a week and it helps keep my hair soft and healthy!

Baking has been another great pass time for me, and it is something I normally don't do much of as I just don't have the time. I have rediscovered it recently, and I have loved getting back in the kitchen and making all sorts of creations. W have also enjoyed stuffing our faces with them... they just taste so good!

The last thing I have been doing is simply keeping active. I don't know why but my anxiety has been quite high lately, especially whenever I get outside, so I have been doing a lot of bits round the house to help myself stay fit and healthy. I have been drinking 2 litres of water a day to stay hydrated, I have been taking some Apple Cider Vinegar to help keep my gut healthy and happy and been having plenty of fruit and veg. Yes, we have been having treats, but I am wanting to try and take this time to look after my body and get moving, even if it is just a little! As Tesco say... Every Little Help, haha!

I hope you are all staying positive and are doing okay throughout this rough time. Let me know what you have been up to and what has been keeping you busy?
