GIFTED: I tried Resistance Bands - First Impressions

Lets face it... if you are any sort of fitness fanatic, or are just someone who likes to keep themselves active, then you have probably heard of resistance bands. They have became a popular add on to many peoples workouts as they add that little more resistance to your exercises, which in turn helps loose weight and tone muscles. I was offered the chance to try out these resistance bands and I wanted to see what all the hype was about... and if I thought they were any good!


I do keep fit at home and have a few exercises I do daily, as well as weights and some smaller machines to keep me active, so was excited to include these bands into my routines to see if I found they made a difference. They are super thick and great quality, and come in 3 levels, depending on your level. These are pretty firm, even the lightest one still needs some muscle to use, but I like that... I have tried some in the past that literally do nothing and end up being a waste of money!

The material doesn't roll down and stays put when you use them, thanks to the lining giving some grip. This again is a problem I have occurred in the past with some other bands... they ride up and can actually start getting quite sore to use.  Not with these though, they stay in place and feel really comfortable!

For you beginners out there who maybe aren't sure what to expect, or how to get the most benefits from these little bands, the bag came with a great leaflet with some of the most common moves that can be done with your resistance bands. Even though I have used these before, I still found this super useful... there is always more to learn no matter how experienced you are!

I tried using the medium band to try out how resistant they were and this worked well for me... the light was just a little too light for me, and the heavy was super tough... I think I will need to build my strength a little before that one gets used! But of course you can use different bands for different workouts, or depending on what your are focusing on, everyone is different and that is the great thing about these!

I am really impressed with these and know they will get a lot of use when I do my home workouts. They just help give your workout that little boost and creates more of a challenge!

Whatever your experience is, there is no doubt that they are a great addition to any workout collection you have... they help with muscle growth and toning, but don't take up the same space as some machines or equipment! A win win! And of course are much more affordable!!!
